FK "Spartaks" couldn't unlock the goal of Vytautas Cerniauskas and fell to 1st place squad FK RFS 0:1, prolonging their losing streak to four games.

From the first whistle FK RFS showed their quality and with less than a minute played had their best chance to score of the entire first half. One of the RFS players was brought down in the area by "Spartaks" goalkeeper Dāvis Ošs and the referee pointed to the spot straight away. The Riga side faild to capitalize on this opportunity as Dāvis Ošs rectified his error with a spectacular save. Ošs was by far the best player on the pitch for "Spartaks" for the majority of the first half and made several key stops to keep the score level. The best chance to score for "Spartaks" came in the closing stages of the first half with Heythem Kerbache`s effort from just outside the box parried away by the RFS goalkeeper.

The second half started with bad news for "Spartaks" as their central defender Anatolie Prepelita was substituted due to injury. More bad news came later on in the period as Ingus Šlampe had to be taken off for the very same reason. The character of the game did not change, with FK RFS controlling posession and creating the better chances. This persistance paid dividends as "Spartaks" continued their run of bad form in regard to defending from set-pieces and conceded a goal from a corner, when the RFS player slotted the ball home after his teammates had won the areal battle. After conceding "Spartaks" went forward and tried to equalize, but this situation opened up the Jūrmala side defensive line to rapid counter attacks and FK RFS came close to doubling their lead, but were denied by both Dāvis Ošs, who continued to show his brilliant form in goal, and the crossbar. "Spartaks" did have one more good chance in the final moments of the match, with Saminu Abdullahi`s long range effort being saved.

This marked the fourth loss in five games for "Spartaks", but the biggest negative of this match was the loss of two more defenders, which makes the situation in the back line even more serious before the Sunday match against FC "Valmiera", as starting left back Vladislavs Soloveičiks had to sit out this match due to injury. However the team continues to show positive sings of development and will hope to continue this trend on their first real home match this season on Sunday at Sloka stadium with kick-off scheduled for 14:00.
