On Sunday the 16th of October we had an important away fixture in Salaspils where we played the local Supernova Salaspils. Before the game both teams were at the bottom of the table with 18 points in 31 games each. Giving that we had a better head-to-head balance (0:0 ; 3:0 ; 2:3) we were ahead in the Virsliga standings but a win could be a big step to avoid relegation.

Oskars Kļava chose the following line-up for the match: Veisbuks (GK) - Skrebels, Kramēns, Terekhov, Grauds - Meļņiks, Laizāns (C), Markhiyev - Zekhov, Krancmanis, Leo Gaucho.

We opened the score in the 15th minute when Krancmanis dribbled past his marker and made a cross into the box where Leo Gaucho headed the ball into the back of the net, scoring his 6th goal of the season. Supernova Salaspils equalised by scoring a direct free kick in the 33th minute but it took only 6 minutes for Adam Markhiyev to put us back in the lead by scoring in the 39th minute.

In the second half Deniss Meļņiks received his 2nd yellow card and was sent off but Supernova returned the favour and got a red card as well in the 82nd minute. Few moments after that Leo Gaucho scored again but was flagged offside. In the 88th minute the Brazilian striker got his brace by netting a wonderfull cross by Hvoiņickis and secured our first win since 8th of august.

After this win we moved up to the 8th place in the Virslīga table with 4 games remaining. Next saturday we will travel to Daugavpils to look for the second win in the row!
