FK "Spartaks" Jurmala could not continue their winning ways and suffered their fifth loss of the season against high-flying BFC "Daugavpils" 0:3 (0:1)

The match in Daugavpils started with the hosts showing more initiative in first 10 minutes of the match, but afterward "Spartaks" players evened out the situation and started creating chances of their own, with Leonel Wamba having the first dangerous attempt on goal, which was parried away by Frenks Orols. This however was the only bright spot for the visitors, as on the 26th minute after a giveaway in their own defensive third BFC "Daugavpils" took full advantage of the chance and opened the scoring.

The second half saw "Spartaks" applying pressure to the hosts in an attempt to level the score. This pressure did not yield any results and all chances of a positive outcome were crushed on the 79th minute when "Daugavpils" doubled their advantage after a poorly defended set-piece. Things went from bad to worse for "Spartaks" as in the dying moments of the match "Daugavpils" scored their 3rd goal of the contest setting the final score - 0:3.

After the match team manager Marek Zub pointed out the pattern that has been evident in most of the losses this season - critical errors that have led to opponents scoring, whether it being a goalkeeping error or a mistake by outfield players.

There will be no extra time to dwell on this loss as FK "Spartaks"  will take on FK "Metta" this Sunday. The team will look to return to winning ways, but this task  will not be an easy one, as the Riga side have played well on their home turf taking points off all Top 3 sides of this seasons Optibet Virsliga clubs.
